Baz Luhrmann made a modern version of this great Shakespeare play with Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet. It's a great version, it takes place in present time, but with the classic dialogue and the war between the Capulets and the Montagues is more of a street gang war. The photo in the movie is beautiful, very artzie, and the soundtrack is magic, I had to buy both cd's in 1997, when it came across my table, thank's to my wounderful friend Sofie. All young people should see this great Shakespeare story!
